Medford, Oregon Plant Wins Airgas’ National Cylinder Fill Plant of the Year Award

A local manufacturing plant that fills and distributes industrial gases in cylinders across the state was named one of two National Cylinder Plants of the Year by Airgas, an Air Liquide company. Selected among 370+ Airgas cylinder plants across the country, the Medford, OR location was one of the top Airgas plants in overall safety and performance measures. 

The Medford plant was chosen based on their performance in workplace safety, production and financial performance, as well as their effectiveness in managing product losses and excess inventory. The Medford team worked seamlessly together to ensure that their customers in southern Oregon had a reliable supply of the medical, food grade and industrial grade gases that they produce. 

Michael R. Smith, President of the Airgas Northern Pacific Region, states, “I am thrilled to celebrate this award with the Airgas Medford team. Earning the Plant of the Year Award is a big honor.  Their tireless work supporting Medford, and the surrounding Southern Oregon market is notably accomplished by their drive for safety and service to our customers. Airgas’ CEO, COO and senior leaders visited the Medford plant on June 8 to celebrate the plant’s success, tour the facility and celebrate the plant’s associates. 

The plant received a National Cylinder Plant of the Year trophy made from a three-foot gold cylinder, which will be proudly displayed to forever commemorate their accomplishment. Additionally, each plant associate received a personalized award ring commemorating the achievement.
